Initial Lore

Nova Oriana is the sister of Kazumi, the Living Flame, and was once an angel in the service of Sune. Yet where her sister embraced divine purpose, Nova chafed beneath it. The celestial accords felt less like sacred guidance and more like chains. In time, she renounced the heavens, turning from Sune and rejecting the notion that faith was anything more than a refined instrument of control.

When Kazumi was cast down, Nova did not hesitate. She demanded the same judgment, unwilling to remain in paradise while her sister endured exile alone. Sune granted her request.

Nova was reborn mortal upon Ravnica as the twin sister of Kazumi Caelamor. There, stripped of celestial constraint but not of celestial fire, she became a fallen angel of Lust; no longer bound by divine law, yet no longer whole. In her descent, she discovered a cruel truth: desire, once unmoored from purpose, is a hunger without end. No pleasure, no power, no conquest would ever fully sate her again, no matter how fiercely she pursued it.

Ravnica

Nova’s exploits are many. An accomplished bard, she never truly fit in anywhere being reborn into the Gruul Clans of Ravnica. Her parents were killed at the hands of the Cult of Rakdos, though she discovered they were actually assassinated in a hit taken out by the Gruul Clan leader, Borborygmos, who saw her parents as competition for the leadership. Nova swore then that she would take her revenge.

During her time spent in Ravnica, she met a Selesnyan named Lurkime, someone whom she had fallen in love with. Though a short lived relationship, it opened a door to her that she did not expect: immortality. She goaded Lurkime’s father into turning her, allowing her to become a daywalker vampire. Shortly thereafter, the love of her life abandoned her without explanation, leaving Nova empty and bitter.

Over the course of many years, Nova did eventually grow strong enough to kill Borborygmos and take his place as Chieftainess, uniting all the clans together. For 1000 years she managed to keep them united, until one day, she was summoned against her will.

Arrival In Luyarnha

Nova was summoned against her will by an unknown cult in Luyarnha during a ritual meant to call forth demons. Recognizing her value in other ways, they delivered her to slavers, where she was raped and degraded as her lustful nature was taken advantage of to the extreme. Their cruelty proved fatal. Rescued by a druid named Belias, Nova survived—and took her revenge.

During the course of her rescue, she met a shadow dragon in the vault where she believed her belongings to be. Taking pity on the dragon, she set him free, and in thanks, the dragon gave her power that she had never seen before. She became a free Shadow Rogue, causing her connection to the weave to be severed, ending her life as a bard. Bonding with a powerful firearm left in the vault, she became a silent assassin, taking her revenge on those who hurt her.

Despite her ferocity, Nova’s greatest fear is losing control. The thirst for blood gnaws at her constantly, a reminder that freedom can become another form of captivity. She despises society, convinced it oppresses the vulnerable. She values her independence and, though she does not kill indiscriminately, has no qualms ending the lives of those she deems deserving, acting as judge, jury, and executioner. Yet she has a heart of gold, aiming her wrath to protect innocents.

Now, Nova lives in the Shrouded District, taking odd jobs and the like as she gets used to life in Luyranha, seeking to build a reputation for herself that she might meet the Maurader Chapter of the Radiant Church….
